Financial Literacy
Our Financial Literacy Program empowers Houston residents, especially low-income families and underserved communities, with practical personal finance education that drives long-term economic stability and opportunity. Through budgeting workshops, credit building and repair coaching, debt management strategies, and actionable guidance on saving, banking basics, responsible spending, homeownership education, and wealth-building pathways, participants gain the tools to make confident financial decisions. This programming is tailored to meet the needs of Houston’s growing population facing financial challenges where approximately 21% of residents live at or below the federal poverty line, significantly higher than the national average, and nearly half a million people struggle with income insecurity.
Our mission is to expand financial capability and foster economic mobility, ensuring individuals and families not only survive but thrive by gaining financial confidence, building assets, and accessing long-term opportunities in one of the fastest-growing urban economies in the United States.
