Health & Wellness
Our Health & Wellness Programming is designed to improve community health outcomes in Houston by providing accessible education, resources, and preventative support that address both physical and mental well-being. Through workshops, wellness events, and trusted community partnerships, this program focuses on mental health awareness, stress management, healthy lifestyle habits, nutrition education, physical activity, preventative care, and holistic wellness practices that support long-term quality of life. This work is critical in Houston, where more than 1 in 4 adults report experiencing frequent mental distress, and chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and obesity disproportionately impact low-income and underserved communities.
With health and wellness education in Houston, LSCDF aims to reduce barriers to care, promote preventative health practices, and empower individuals and families to prioritize wellness by strengthening overall community health, resilience, and economic stability across the region.
